Custom Flame-Heated Wood Branding Iron

A traditional flame-heated branding iron for woodworkers, makers, and one-off projects where a simple non-electric tool is preferred.

Each branding iron includes a custom-machined brass branding plate with a hardwood grip, lacquer finish, 304-grade stainless steel connecting rod, and serrated flange nuts.

Built for clean branding

Each plate is machined from thick 5/8" brass and engraved 1/8" deep — deeper than most standard branding irons. This helps reduce unwanted background contact and gives the design proper relief.

The brass is also stress-relieved to help reduce the risk of warping over time, especially on larger plates.

Easier alignment

Round, curved, and contour-cut logos are still made with a square or rectangular outer body. This gives you a straight edge to register against your workpiece and helps keep the design properly aligned.

Heating note

Smaller sizes work very well with a propane torch or open flame. Larger plates take more heat and more time; for larger sizes, we recommend heating the branding head with an infrared hot plate as a budget-friendly alternative.

This style is best for occasional branding, one-off projects, and smaller batches where you do not mind a little trial and error to dial in the heat. Always test on scrap pieces from the same wood species before branding your finished workpiece.
