Hand-Held Brass Leather Stamp

Our hand-held brass leather stamp is a simple, old-school option for marking small leather goods without needing a press. Designed for use with a mallet, maul, or hammer, it gives you a cost-effective way to emboss smaller logos into leather using the same high-detail brass engraving we use on our traditional branding plates.

The stamp is made with a precision-engraved brass head for crisp detail, paired with a durable 8 mm steel striking post on the back. This combination gives you the best of both materials: brass at the engraving face for fine logo detail, and steel at the striking end for better durability when taking repeated blows from a mallet.

Each stamp includes a removable 4" steel post attached with a threaded connection and serrated flange nut. The post can be removed with a wrench, allowing the brass head to also be used with our standard flame-heated handle or standard electric branding iron handle.

This is a no-frills, budget-friendly option for small logos, initials, maker’s marks, and compact leather embossing work. For the most consistent results, we still recommend using leather stamps in an arbor press, clicker press, or manual press whenever possible, since controlled pressure produces cleaner and more repeatable impressions than hammering.

Because larger stamps require significantly more force, we only offer this hand-held hammer-style version in smaller sizes. Larger leather stamps are available, but they should be used in a press for proper results.
